Back to School!

Hey, everybody!

Gosh, has it seriously been a week since I posted on here? Bad blogger award, I know... Sorry about that. School has officially started up for me and I've been super busy. Can I please be done with school now? *sigh* Honestly, it's been going well so far though, so I'm happy. Haha, now I just have to keep up with blogging! (Which I WILL do!! I swear!!)

Small announcement, I'm going to start back the daily quotes on September 1st, so stay tuned for that! I really could just start them now, but I'm weird about when I start things haha. I may be a *teensy* bit OCD...

------------------------------------------

Anyway, I was thinking- it's kind of funny to think about the Cahills' reactions to going back to school.....

Amy would be thrilled, and would be the girl that signs up for all of the super advanced courses, does everything honors and AP. She would probably have a countdown to when school started! She'd probably also be freaking out, hoping that maybe this would be the year she could ACTUALLY be a normal high school student and just go to school.

Dan would be your typical teenage boy, looking forward to school about as much as a dentist's appointment. He would be constantly fighting with Amy about going school supply shopping, and would give her as hard of a time as possible. But let's face it he does that about everything.....

Ian would be trying to convince Amy that he would be much more efficient doing school online, but she would insist that it would be a "good experience" for him to go to an American public school. Ian would hate the idea of going to school with "Common Americans". He'd much rather just avoid people. Does this make me Ian?

Jonah wouldn't go to regular school, because let's face it, he would be mobbed constantly. It just wouldn't work. He'd probably do online school from the Attleboro base, and would rub it in Ian's face at every possible opportunity.

Nellie would worry, of course. She would be panicky about her kiddos going out and doing normal things. After all, anyone could be an enemy. But she would also be excited about going back to school and taking cooking classes. Plus, less time taking care of the kiddos means more coffee dates with Sammy. ;)

Hamilton would be thrilled for a break from being Jonah's bodyguard for a few hours every day, and would immediately join every sports club that he could. He would also probably scare off a lot of kids in the process. xD

How do you feel about school starting?

A Funny Story..

So, I just realized that I never told y'all this story, and I thought that it might entertain you! xD

I'll start back at the beginning. The day that I read Mission Hindenburg, I saw something online where someone was upset with the identity of the Outcast. At the time, it didn't really faze me, I just went on with my life.

Then, later that afternoon, I was reading Mission Hindenburg. I left my room for a few minutes to get some food, and when I came back, I accidentally saw the back panel.

I didn't read the actual letter, but one name flashed before my eyes.

Irina.

And often, the letter at the back of the book is from a villain. So when I saw her name, a character that I loved dearly but had died, I kind of flipped out. Basically, I was thinking that Irina wasn't dead, and she was the Outcast.

Later, I found out that the letter was just her version of a will to Alek. But at the time....oh gosh. I was absolutely freaking out.

Wouldn't it have been crazy if Irina had been the Outcast? I've got to admit, that would have been a really cool plot twist. I would have absolutely died...but it would have been super cool!! That would have been probably the most shocking plot twist in the books.

So anyways, I just thought that you all might be interested in the story of how I pretty much almost died.

She's Killing Me

My little sister (not the Amian one) has this thing where she adores to come up with all of these horrible endings to Amian. I'm pretty sure that it's just a hobby of hers. We'll just be eating dinner or something perfectly normal when she'll say something like, "Hey! What if Ian fell off of a cliff??" "Maybe in the last series Amy will die!!!" It's not exactly comforting.

Tonight we were having dinner, when she decides to come up with a whole new Amian scenario. And I quote-

"So, they're on an airplane, and all of a sudden, Ian and Amy stand up. And Ian's like, "Oh, Amy. I'm on the Vespers side." And then he opens up the airplane window and says, "You are lovely." And then he pushes her down to her death."

^^That is an exact quote. *facepalm*

Keep in mind that she has never read the series, and the only reason that she knows about Amian and Lovely are because I've ranted so much. So basically, she knows nothing, yet she's still torturing me. Great.

Book 4 Theories

There are a lot of theories going around online as to what the fourth and final disaster is going to be. I actually read somewhere online that the fourth book is going to be named Mission 39, although I haven't seen that confirmed.

There's one theory that each disaster is going to be 32 years apart. That would place the fourth disaster happening in 2008. In 2008, the Clue Hunt was going on. It's possible that the final disaster could involve the serum (please no), or the Outcast could create his own disaster that would pit all of the Cahills against each other once again.

As for Mission Hurricane, the third book, one possibility is that the disaster won't have anything to do with an actual hurricane, but a mistake that was made in the aftermath of the hurricane. Didn't the Outcast say something at one point about always being able to rely on human stupidity? I'm pretty sure that he's not going the whole natural-disaster weather machine route. He seems like too cool of a villain. Let's face it, V1 was a nutjob...

I don't know. There are a number of different ways that that could go. I think that we'll be able to formulate better theories once we have more information on Mission Hurricane. What do you think?

My Thoughts on Grace

Okay, so for the past three series, Grace has kind of been the perfect character. She was the one who always had everything planned to the last detail, and even after she was dead, she had always had everything worked out in advance. But then in these last two books, everything that we've known about Grace has sort of been turned upside down. Suddenly, we're supposed to believe that this incredible woman was an evil, cruel, ruthless, cold hearted killer. Honestly though- I don't believe it.

I don't refuse to believe it just because I love Grace. I mean yeah, she's always been one of my favorite characters, just because she's so incredible. But....I do have actual reasoning behind this.

First off, think back to the assassination letter that Grace wrote to Vladimir. Yes, she did write a letter authorizing the death of her husband. But I do NOT believe that it was simply because he wanted a divorce, like Beatrice claimed. Think about what she actually said. "He has become a threat to more than just the tranquility of my home." Obviously, there was more going on. Look back at Grace. Has she ever done anything crazy, anything that there wasn't a solid reason behind the decision? No, she hasn't.

But the one thing that I've always looked back on whenever anything has been said about Grace, the one moment that I've always thought of, was Irina. Remember how in books 4-6, Irina was always thinking about Grace? At one point, Irina thought, "When you called me a fool, there was kindness in your eyes." (I'm paraphrasing here, sorry. That's not the exact quote, but I'm currently watching The Princess Diaries for the 87th time and I don't want to go upstairs to get my book.) Anyways, so let's think about it. Irina had done many, many things that should cause Grace to hate her. Irina killed tons of people. She was responsible for lots of terrible things. When Grace's daughter died, Irina said, "These things happen." She said that to a woman whose daughter had just been killed. Yet, Grace was still always kind to Irina. You cannot tell me that the woman who supposedly killed her own husband just because he wanted a divorce would be kind to the woman who was partially responsible for the death of her daughter. I just don't believe it.

I'm really expecting an explanation of how Grace realized that Nathaniel was evil, and needed him killed. I just don't believe that Grace was evil. There's most likely going to be a big explanation of how, yet again, Grace was right.

Then again, it could be kind of interesting to see Grace having done something wrong. To see her as a fallible person like everyone else would definitely be interesting.

But I'm Not Obsessed...

That's right, guys. I have a Lovely mug!!!

My sister got it for me at T.J. Maxx- she's a fellow 39 Clues fan. (She's also an Amian shipper- not just because I would disown her if she wasn't....)

I think that I'm going to have to fill this up with hot cocoa when Mission Hurricane comes out and just drink from this beautiful mug as I sob over the probable lack of Amian. xD

Thought Process

Author 1: Hey, you know what we should do?

Author 2: What?

Author 1: We should create this really awesome ship that 90% of the fandom will love, and then crush said ship within the same book.

Author 2: Ooh, great idea! And then we should tease them with it for the next seven books, but never go into it any more ever again.

Author 1: I love it! And then, in our second series, the girl will have a new boyfriend, and the first boy will be all alone.

Author 2: Perfect! But then, we should bring in yet another boy to divide the fandom up even more, and have the girl cheat on her boyfriend with new boy.

Author 1: But...what will we do about the boyfriend?

Author 2: Oh, we'll just kill him.

Author 1: PERFECT! But let's throw in some tiny moments with the first boy every now and then, just to drive the readers crazy.

Author 2: Sounds perfect. And then, we'll bring in a new girl for the original boy that the majority of the fandom will hate, to further crush everyone's souls.

Author 1: Love it!

*high five*

*fans cry*

....What If?

First off, I'm not the person who actually realized this. I just saw it online, and want to get some thoughts on it.

On the cover of Mission Hurricane the lightning goes THROUGH the 39 clues logo on the front.

Historically, the only time that something punctures/messes with/changes the 39 Clues logo, it's on the last book of a series. What if- the Outcast's story finishes within Mission Hurricane? Then, the last book of all *could* be kind of like a giant epilogue, the conclusion to the entire 39 Clues series. I don't know, it's just a thought. But it would be kind of interesting. (I would probably cry through the entire book if we got a whole book of epilogue. Oh my goodness. I can't even think about it.)

Agh..Now I'm thinking about the last book. That is going to be the most emotional thing ever.... The last time that we'll ever get to see those characters. The last book to laugh at Dan and Amy's bickering, the last book of Jonah's crazy artist nature, the last book of hoping for a tiny Amian moment.

The last book.

Mission Hindenburg- Villains Going Soft?

Is it just me, or...were some of the villains in Mission Hindenburg kind of..soft? I don't know. But between the three featured villains (the Outcast, Vikram, and Alek), I was kind of surprised.

Okay, let's start with the Outcast. Yes, he is extremely ruthless. He killed Aunt Beatrice, and was responsible for the deaths of thirty-six people in the explosion. But the one scene that really surprised me was the scene with Saladin. He was keeping the cat in a cage, and although he wasn't feeding him red snapper, all in all Saladin seems to be doing pretty well. The Outcast is feeding him, and it didn't seem like Saladin was being treated badly. That just kind of struck me as odd, I honestly expected the Outcast to kill Saladin. Although if Nathaniel is the Outcast, he may have been around cats a lot when he and Grace were together, and had a soft spot for them or something? I don't know. I just thought it was kind of weird.

Vikram. Vikram, Vikram, Vikram. Oh my gosh.

He saved Ian's life.

That's right, Vikram Kabra. The same man who was married to Isabel Kabra, has tortured and killed hundreds of people, and abused Natalie and Ian their entire childhoods. That just honestly blows my mind. He made sure that Ian wasn't on the ship that was going to blow up, and he specifically told the Outcast that he didn't want Ian harmed. That seems SO out of character for him. I know that we really haven't read much about him, but he just doesn't seem like the type to care. It's obvious he was never kind to Ian when he was growing up, as we know from the countless times Ian has mentioned his father's abuse. So....why does he care if the Outcast kills Ian?

Last up, Alek. I may be the only person who picked up on this, but did anyone else notice that he didn't directly kill Nellie and Sammy when he was given the opportunity? Yes, he left them in the room with the acid bomb. But that's the thing. He left them there. He had the opportunity to just shoot them or something, but he didn't. He left them in the room, where they still had a tiny chance of escape. That could just be something that I noticed, but who knows? Maybe he has a bit more of his sister in him than we've thought...?

I don't know. These are all just things that I've noticed; it's kind of random, but I find it kind of weird. That may just be how London wrote it, but I don't know why the villains weren't more....evil. It's bothering me. I'm not even sure what I'm getting at here, why I'm posting it. But did anyone else notice this?

Mission Hurricane Cover RELEASED!!!

WE GOT IT, GUYS!!!!!

This is the OFFICIAL cover, off of Amazon!!!!!

.....The people on the Message Boards were right, this does look like Day of Doom...

I'm now slightly concerned.

Mission Hindenburg Review- No Spoilers!!

Okay. *deep breath in* I can do this.

Hello! First off, I'd like to thank you all for putting up with my constant posting these past several days. If you haven't read the book yet, I'm super sorry for posting so many spoiler-filled posts! I'd like to make it up to you though, with a completely spoiler-free post, for everyone who HASN'T read the book yet!

Agh.....this book. It was....interesting. I'm going to be completely honest with you all- it wasn't my favorite book. There were good parts, of course, but overall it's not a book that I'm going to look back on and say, "oh, I loved that one!" Or even really liked it all that much.  I feel like at this point in the series, bringing in a bunch of new authors just wasn't the best move. C. Alexander London did several things in this book that I personally didn't agree with, and I didn't feel like they were necessary. There was also a GIGANTIC plot hole that is seriously bothering me. In a way, this book kind of reminded me of Day of Doom. Not from a death aspect, but just how some of the characters changed or did things that were OOC.  There were several moments in the book that were emotional/romantic, and I didn't think that they were as well written as they could have been.

When Mission Titanic came out, I was super nervous to read it, but I was very pleasantly surprised by how well-written it was, and how great of a job that Jude Watson did. This time, however, I was disappointed. I was nervous, but... I was kind of expecting more out of it.

Now, that's not to say that I totally hated the book. There were some parts in it that were super interesting, and some parts made me laugh out loud! Oftentimes though, I would be extremely annoyed because *finally*, there would be a section that I was really interested in, and London just cut it off and didn't fully explain it. That was really frustrating.

There is a section at the beginning of the book that is definitely going to cause a controversy. I really don't think that it was something that needed to be included. Younger kids read these books, and it's not something that I would want my little sister reading. Honestly, it was just extremely unnecessary.

Also, I'm pretty sure he was trying to cut my heart out. Just saying. I won't go into that since this is a spoiler-free post, but....agh. Not happy.

So, overall, this really wasn't one of the best 39 Clues books. I wish that I could write a more positive review of it, but I just can't. I'd love to hear some of your thoughts on this book though, so let me know in the comments below!

How The Series SHOULD End

I have this mini fanfiction running through my mind of how the series should end. Let's face it- it needs to be fabulous!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
*Cara reveals her evil traitorous nature*
Ian: Cara?? You're with HIM?? How could you? You are the most despicable, disgusting, low down human being that I've ever met. You, Cara Pierce, are lower than the creator of the Croc.
Jonah: *walks over to Cara and shoves her down* "Not cool, dude. Not cool. Hit it, Ames!!!"
Amy: *struts in with a microphone* "I knew you were trouble when you walked iiiiiin! Now you're lying on the cold hard ground! Oh!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Because in my mind, I Knew You Were Trouble is Cara's theme song. Hopefully, she ends up lying on the cold hard ground!

(Yes, I'm aware of the stupidity of this post. But I was more than a bit exhausted when I wrote this and I have major Cara bitterness. Soooooooo thus the stupid post. Which I more than likely will delete later when I'm a bit more sane.)

Some More Carian Thoughts

Okay, so y'all know that I'm kind of desperate to prove that Cara is evil. Like, analyze every scene that she's ever been in and try to find something wrong with her desperate. I WILL FIND HER FLAW.

Last night, my mom and I were talking about it, and this is kind of what we came up with- she's almost too good to be true. And if something's too good to be true, well, it usually is. I mean, let's think about it-
  • She's pretty. (A shallow reason to like her but hey, I'll include it.)
  • She's smart. (Allegedly. I'm still not convinced that she was actually April May. But that's a rant for another time.)
  • She's been in the my-parent-is-evil-I-must-change-sides situation. (Although personally, I think that for someone to date Ian, they have to at least somewhat also understand what it's like to experience so much death, and she doesn't seem to have had to deal with that.)
  • She's a fellow Cahill.
I'm sure that there are other "good points" to her as well, but considering how strongly I dislike her, that's all that I can really come up with at the moment. But if you just looked at the points above, you would probably think that she'd be a great match for Ian. Especially the fact that they both experienced similar things with their parents. I mean, it's only natural to think that.

So here's my thought- ever since she entered the series, we've read a lot about how perfect Ian and Cara are together, and the Carian moments have gotten to the point of basically being shoved in our faces. (*cough* especially MH *cough*) Typically, with other couples, it's never THAT bad. Yes, they have romantic moments. Yes, they flirt. But it's never been so painfully forced.

Maybe, just maybe, it's being pushed on us on purpose. Hoping to gain a bunch of Carian fans, so that when Cara finally switches sides, the fandom loses it. Again, this could just be my desperate hopes. Or maybe I'm on the right track. I really don't know. But I'm definitely not going to trust her. And I'm going to just keep hoping for Amian. ;)

THANK YOU!!!!!!

Oh. My. Gosh.

I cannot believe it. Ten thousand pageviews.

When I started this blog less than a year ago, I had no idea that I would ever get anywhere near that amount of views. I figured that I would get like, ten views. Period.   I just wanted to blog because I loved these books, and needed somewhere to rant. So the fact that this blog has been viewed so many times is so insane.

Thank you so much, everyone! Thank you for reading all of my crazy rants, putting up with my Amian obsession, and for all of your awesome comments!! You are all fabulous!

Stay Lovely!
~Grace Anne

Interesting.....

So, I decided to play the mission for Mission Hindenburg on the 39 Clues website. Basically, you were asked to try and find a hidden IP address because someone was vandalizing the Cahill Web. After following a bunch of links, you finally find the address, copy and paste it into the designated bar, and a trace was placed on the address. When the trace was almost finished, however, the Outcast stopped it at the last second. He left a message, saying something this-

Am I the only one who thinks that this sounds kind of like Cara? "Nice try, kid. Did you really think I'd make it THAT easy for you?" I don't know, that just reminds me of her. "Why are you wasting it running pointless errands for Ian Kabra?" I can just picture her saying all of that.

Plus, we were supposed to trace a hacker. Oh wait. Cara is a hacker.

What do you guys think? Am I just being overly suspicious because I'm desperate to prove that this girl is evil? Or is this a clue?

Mission Hurricane Cover Info

Okay, so I've been looking around online, and when I was reading the 39 Clues message boards, I learned some information about the Mission Hurricane book cover.

Apparently, if you pre-order the ebook, you can see the cover. I haven't been able to find an actual image, but it has been described as looking similar to the cover of Day of Doom, except it is green and looks darker/more sinister.

This doesn't sound good. -_- It also supposedly features a legitimate hurricane on the front. I'm just praying that they don't go down the whole weather-machine path again. IT DOESN'T GO WELL. JUST DON'T TRY. PLEASE.

There was, at one point, an Operation Hurricane, so I'm hoping that that's what the title refers to. I can't stand another remake of Day of Doom. Please, I'm begging you. No.

Has anyone been able to find an image of the cover? If you have, please leave the link in the comments below!
